Abrie graduated with a BCom (Hon) (Acc) from the University of Pretoria in 1978 and obtained his CA(SA) in 1979. He worked as Audit Senior at Theron van der Poel from 1979 until 1981 and thereafter joined Prima Foods as Financial Manager. In 1984 Abrie joined Prestasi Insurance Brokers and left in 1992 as Group Managing Director to launch Trustee Board Investments (Pty) Ltd, of which he is the Executive Chairman.

BCom (Marketing Management)
Caylin started her career in financial services at Allan Gray where she worked in the Unit Trust department. She joined our company at the beginning of 2009.

Diploma in Computer Secretarial
Christelle completed her Diploma in Computer Secretarial in 1996 and started her career as personal assistant at Old Mutual. She then joined Sanlam where she fulfilled various roles before joining us in 2006 as the company's personal assistant.

BCom (Law), BCom (Hons) (Financial Economics and Investment Management), MCom (Financial Economics and Investment Management) ,CFP®
Esther started her career doing listed property research in association with the University of the Free State.
She then moved to the fund management side and her experience includes WRAP funds, unit trusts and private client portfolio management. Esther joined Spencer Financial Services in November 2009 and Ora's asset management team in January 2011.
Her other qualifications include SAIFM Equity and Compliance certificates.

BCom (Hons) (Investment Management) MCom (Organisational Management)
After training as a money market dealer, Eugene joined ABSA Treasury where he gained experience in asset and liability management, bond trading and equity derivatives trading. At RMB Asset Management, he traded equity derivatives before assuming responsibility for structured solutions. He then spent 5 years at Investec Asset Management where he managed the credit process and annuity portfolios, took responsibility for process-wide derivative strategy and was a member of the asset allocation committee. He joined Metropolitan Asset Management in 2005 as head of dealing and implementation and subsequently became responsible for all absolute return products and alternative strategies. Eugene has been a director of Spencer Financial Services since January 2010 and joined Ora's asset management team in January 2011.
Eugene has spoken at conferences in Japan, UK, Europe and South Africa on trading - , derivatives - and portfolio construction and other subjects.

BCom, BL, LLB, LLM (Harvard)
After twelve years as an advocate in Zimbabwe, Ian began his investment banking career with a five year stint in the City of London. In 1991, he became an executive director of Standard Chartered Merchant Bank Zimbabwe Limited, in charge of corporate finance. Ian established the Zimbabwe subsidiary of Real Africa Durolink in 1995 and then led that business for eight years.
With a strong legal and corporate finance background, Ian has been responsible for the listing of various companies, take-overs and mergers, capital raisings, company valuations and a privatisation in South Africa. He has also been part of an innovative structured finance team that successfully raised debt finance for dozens of companies and institutions.
Ian is a partner of Ora.

BCom (Accounting), BCompt (Hons)
Ian started his banking career at Stannic in 1991. He joined Real Africa Durolink in 1993 and went on to become the head of its highly successful structured finance business. He was a member of the RAD Group's management committee and served as a director of RAD Holdings and various subsidiaries. In 1998 Ian relocated to London where he established and managed the RAD Group's UK office. Following the takeover of the RAD Group in 2001, Ian joined Gensec in London and subsequently relocated to Cape Town in 2002.
In addition to the design and implementation of structured finance transactions, Ian has acquired considerable experience in designing collective investment schemes and other investment products in various markets including South Africa.
Ian was one of the founding partners of Ora.

BBusSc (Hons) (Finance), PGDA, CA (SA), CFA
Mark has a background in corporate finance and investment banking. After completing his articles with the banking division of PwC, Johannesburg in 2003, he gained further experience in the United States with PwC before joining Nodus Capital in 2005. Mark spent a year with Credit-Suisse in New York as a credit derivatives consultant before returning to South Africa.
He has extensive experience in performing corporate restructurings, financial modelling, independent company valuations and valuation of financial instruments.

BCom (Hons) (Accounting), MBA (Wits), CA (SA)
Ockert began his career in investment banking in the corporate finance division at Barclays Merchant Bank in 1986. He joined Real Africa Durolink in 1996 and later became a director of RAD Bank responsible for the bank's credit risk process. In 2002 Ockert joined Gensec Bank where he headed the securitisation unit in the debt finance division, responsible for a structured finance book and debt portfolio management.
Ockert has accumulated extensive experience in asset management, structured and corporate finance, securitisation, treasury and credit management.
Ockert was one of the founding partners of Ora.

Higher Certificate in Financial Markets (SAIFM)
Shirley started her career in Unit Trusts in 1989. After spending three years in administration, she progressed to Business Development Management. She has worked in both the corporate and boutique asset management spaces, gaining extensive knowledge in Collective Investment Schemes. Shirley became a member of the SAIFM in 1992 and joined our company in September 2010.

BSc MBA
After five years with Sasol, Tienie completed an MBA and then joined Sanlam Investments in 1990. He held various positions in equity research and portfolio management before becoming the chief executive of Gensec Private Clients, later renamed Sanlam Private Clients, in 1998. In this role, Tienie led the acquisition of businesses from ANB Amro and Merrill Lynch. In 2003, Tienie received the Sanlam Chairman’s Award as well as the AHI Business Leader of the Year Award.
In 2004, Tienie became the chief executive of Sanlam Collective Investments. He was part of the Sanlam team that assessed investment opportunities in India and in 2009, he moved there to become the chief executive of SMC Global, a wealth and asset management joint venture between Sanlam and SMC India. Tienie returned to South Africa in late 2011 and joined Ora Fund Managers on 1 February 2012. Tienie’s responsibilities as a director of Ora include the implementation of Ora’s growth and diversification strategies.

Wayne completed his articles at the end of 2005 before joining us in June 2006. Wayne has considerable experience in asset management, collective investment schemes, investment products, credit rating and compliance monitoring.
